Privacy policy
Last updated 29 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information AB Key LLP collects through this website, why, who else handles it on our behalf, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
AB Key LLP ("AB Key", "we", "us") is the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at:
- Post: Unit 23 Mulberry Court, Bourne Industrial Park, Bourne Road, Crayford, Kent DA1 4BF
- Email: sales@abkey.co.uk
- Phone: 020 8691 4112
We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration number ZB888262. Questions about this policy or your information can go to any of the contact details above.
What we collect
The only personal information this website collects is what you choose to send us through our enquiry form (the "Get a quote" form at the foot of our service, about and contact pages):
- your name (required)
- your email address (required)
- your phone number (optional)
- the service your enquiry is about (optional)
- your message, and anything you choose to include in it (optional)
If you browse the site without sending an enquiry, we collect nothing about you. The site has no analytics, advertising or tracking, and no social media, map or video embeds: everything on its pages, including the coverage map, is served from this website itself.
Like every website, the company that hosts it (Netlify, below) receives your IP address and basic browser information when your browser requests a page, in order to deliver it and to protect the site from abuse.
Why we use it
We use the details you send only to reply to your enquiry and, if you ask us to, to arrange a survey, provide a quote and carry out the work. We do not use them for marketing, and we do not sell or share them with anyone other than the service providers named below.
Our lawful basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps you have asked for before entering into a contract with us, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries sent to us.
Who handles it for us
Netlify, Inc. hosts this website and receives and stores enquiry form submissions on our behalf. It acts as our processor, only on our instructions. See Netlify's privacy policy.
Netlify also emails a copy of each enquiry to our sales inbox, sales@abkey.co.uk. Microsoft hosts that inbox (Microsoft 365) and acts as our processor for the emails we receive. See Microsoft's privacy statement.
If your enquiry becomes a quote or a job, its details are entered into SimPRO, our job management system, which also acts as our processor.
Inside AB Key, enquiries are read by our office team, to respond, quote and book work, and by management for oversight and follow-up. Engineers see only the details they need to attend a job, such as the site address and contact details.
Transfers outside the UK
Netlify is based in the United States, so information you send through the form may be processed there. Netlify's data processing agreement protects that transfer with the standard contractual clauses and the ICO's International Data Transfer Addendum. Any transfer of email data outside the UK by Microsoft is covered by Microsoft's own data protection terms.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for 12 months from our last contact with you, then deleted. That allows for follow-ups and for quotes being reconsidered.
If your enquiry becomes a quote or a job, it becomes part of the job record in SimPRO and is kept for 6 years after the work finishes. Six years matches the limitation period for contract claims and what HMRC expects us to keep for our accounts.
Cookies
This website does not use cookies or store anything on your device. Our cookie policy has the details.
Links to other websites
Some links take you to other websites: our reviews on Google Maps and our page on LinkedIn. Nothing is sent to those sites unless you follow the link. Once you do, their own privacy policies apply. The reviews quoted on our pages are copied, as text, from our public Google reviews.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our using it
- ask for your information in a format you can take to another organisation
To use any of these rights, email sales@abkey.co.uk or write to us at the address above. We will reply within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this website handles personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
